The Unseen Juicy Lucy

Here's a real treat for Vertigo collectors, record cover enthusiasts and greengrocers. If you've read my column in this month's Shindig! you'll know all about hard rockers Juicy Lucy, the mysterious Zelda Plum, and photographer Peter Smith. Peter was kind enough to share with us this image of the unused (rear) cover he mocked up for their debut LP and which was rejected by Philips. A real bit of history!
Bonus! Here's Zelda Plum in full regalia for the single launch in 1969. Amazing!

Thanks so much for sharing these Peter, and I'd still be really interested to hear from anyone who can add anything to the strange story of Zelda Plum.

Shindig! No.64

Out today, Shindig! No.64. From me: A look at a mighty Russian bear and a review of some Belgian library tunes. Elsewhere: Star Trek, Albums of '67, Bread, and Curtis Mayfield! Awesome.
